About this event
Nṛsiṁha Caturdaśī marks the divine appearance of Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva, the half-man, half-lion incarnation of Lord Viṣṇu, who manifests to protect His pure devotee Prahlāda Mahārāja and to uphold dharma. At ISKCON temples, the festival is observed with fasting until dusk, followed by kīrtana, abhiṣeka (ceremonial bathing of the Deity), readings from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, and a special ārati. The fast is broken after sunset with prasādam offered to the Lord.
