Sunday program
What to expect.
A typical Sunday runs about three hours. Come for any part of it.
- 5:00 PMDoors open
Arrive, remove shoes at the entrance, and find a seat. Floor cushions and chairs are available.
- 5:15 PMbegins
Devotional group chanting of sacred names. Lyrics are projected — join in or simply listen.
- 6:00 PMDarśana-
A ceremony of light offered to the deity. Brief, visual, and beautiful.
- 6:15 PMDiscourse
A talk drawn from the Bhagavad-gītā or Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Open Q&A at the end.
- 7:00 PMClosing
A second round of chanting, often more energetic.
- 7:15 PM
Sanctified vegetarian food shared with everyone. Free, no reservation needed.
- 8:00 PMTemple closes
Come and go as you like — there is no obligation to stay for the full program.
Tips for first-timers
A few things that help.
- Arrive 10 minutes early to find parking and settle in
- Bring socks — shoes are removed at the door
- Wear modest, comfortable clothing — shoulders, chest, and knees should be covered
- Avoid sleeveless tops, shorts, or skirts above the knee
- Sit anywhere — floor cushions and chairs are both available
- Chant along or just listen — there is no pressure to participate
- Prasāda is served near the end — stay for a warm vegetarian meal
- The community is warm. Say hello to anyone.
